Job summary

Bettendorf Community School District's Edison Academy is seeking a Paraeducator to support students in a flexible, relationship-focused learning environment. You will work alongside teachers and staff to help students achieve academic, behavioral, and personal success at Edison Academy.

Hours are up to 5.75 hours per day with an hourly rate of $19.42. The role requires compassion, dependability, and a commitment to positive student impact in a school setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with students in a school setting preferred.
• Experience supporting students with diverse academic, behavioral, or social-emotional needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in providing instructional support to individual students and small groups.
• Build positive relationships with students while encouraging academic engagement, responsibility, and personal growth.
• Support the implementation of classroom expectations and behavior support strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in a professional manner.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with students, staff, families, and the public.
• Demonstrate flexibility, patience, and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in required training and professional development opportunities.
• Must have valid U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an active work visa.
