Job summary

Covelo Group in Visalia, CA is seeking a Paraeducator/Instructional Aide to support classroom instruction and student progress during the school day. You may work one-on-one or with small groups under teacher supervision, following IEPs and classroom routines.

This role offers weekly pay, a Monday–Friday schedule, and opportunities to gain hands-on experience in education and special education while helping students stay engaged and safe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in a school or with children preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school staff.
• Patience and a supportive approach with students who have diverse needs.
• Calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Willingness to work in different classrooms or schools.
• Reliable transportation to assigned locations.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom instruction and daily activities
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students
• Reinforce academic lessons, social skills, and classroom routines
• Help students remain engaged and participate throughout the school day
• Follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504 plans, and behavior support plans
• Observe student progress and communicate updates to the teacher or supervisor
• Prepare or modify instructional materials as directed
• Support students during breaks, meals, and activities outside the classroom
• Participate in prescribed physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy activities when directed
• Assist with personal care needs, which may include toileting, diapering, handwashing, grooming, or other hygiene-related tasks
• Maintain each student’s privacy, safety, and dignity
