Job summary

Lake Washington School District is seeking a paraprofessional to assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with varying needs at Juanita High School.

Hours: 6.5 per day, 180-day calendar, location at Juanita High School. Must meet educational requirements and pass background checks. Final interviews will be scheduled for finalists.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and high school diploma or equivalent.
• AA degree or higher, or 72 college quarter credits, or ParaPro/Paraprofessional assessments.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels with physical/behavioral needs.
• Support students' health care needs and develop daily living and behavioral skills.
• Assist staff with classroom preparation and retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies.
• May supervise and assist students in library, classrooms, playgrounds, or getting on/off a bus.

Hourly Rate: $30.79 (SC7ParaEd26-27.pdf) is eligible for membership in the Teamsters Local Union No. 763 which is part of the Lake Washington School District Trades Bargaining Council No. 763 (TBC).

Job Summary

Assists teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs and are medically fragile. Supports students' special health care needs and develops daily living and behavioral skills. Assists staff with classroom preparation and retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies. May supervise and assist students in library, classrooms, resource rooms, self-contained classroom, playgrounds, or getting on and off a bus.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
