Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant I for Natchez Elementary School. The role supports teachers with individual and group instruction, prepares teaching aids, and maintains records to support student progress.

The position is 17 hours per week, grant-funded and ending June 2028. Sites and responsibilities emphasize classroom assistance, material preparation, and student supervision across common school areas.

Qualifications

• Completion of 48 semester or 60 quarter units from an accredited college or university, desirably in child development, education, or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent with required additional qualifications.
• Experience in instructional activities or guidance of students.
• Pass ParaPro/ParaPathways or ParaPathways/ETS scores as specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in a variety of classrooms and related areas.
• Prepare lesson outlines and plans in assigned areas.
• Develop and maintain instructional materials and records.
• Assist students individually or in groups with lesson assignments.
• Maintain classroom discipline and order in various locations within the school.
