Job summary

Barnum Elementary School is seeking a paraeducator to support students during whole and small group instruction, supervise lunch and recess, and accompany students to art and music specials. The 10-hour position runs daily in the afternoon, with a schedule from 12:15 PM to 2:45 PM, beginning 09/08/2026.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma; experience with young children is desirable and practices developmentally appropriate.

Description:

Paraeducator to work supporting students during whole and small group instruction as well as working with individual children throughout the day. Responsibilities include supervising lunch and recess and accompanying students to specials (art, music). Experience working with young children is necessary and an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices is desirable. Other tasks as needed to support classroom instruction under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
Supervised By: School principal.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Salary: In accordance with the Agreement Between Cheshire Board of Education and CSEA/SEIU Local 2001/760 in Behalf of the Cheshire Paraeducators and Lunchroom/Playground Aides. $18.63 per hour.
