Grand Forks Public Schools is looking for a paraeducator to support students with disabilities in multiple school settings, under teacher supervision. The role includes assisting with IEP goals, data collection, and adaptations, while promoting a safe, supportive learning environment.
The position is classified, 9-month, with hourly pay and opportunities for professional development and collaboration with staff.
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
Ability to work with a variety of student behaviors and educational needs, primarily in the general education classroom. Ability to work as a team member, demonstrates human relations skills, and demonstrates effective communication skills.
Assist students with disabilities in a variety of school settings, including specialized classrooms, under the supervision of teachers/related services personnel. Disabilities include autism, emotional disturbance, physical impairments, intellectual disabilities, adult transition (18-21 years of age) and alternate settings.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
Full-time or part-time, Nine (9) months, academic school year
Job performance will be evaluated by the supervisor.
