Job summary

Lake Washington School District is hiring a Para Educator at Einstein Elementary in the Redmond Learning Community. The role supports teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with diverse needs, including medical and behavioral support, and helps with classroom setup and materials.

The position follows an 180-day calendar with a 3.5-hour day (9:20 am–1:25 pm). Finalists will be contacted for interviews; LWSD is a smoke-free workplace and does not sponsor employment

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR Completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours.
• Passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher, OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher.
• Official documentation will be required upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels with physical or behavioral needs.
• Supports students' health care needs and develops daily living and behavioral skills.
• Assists staff with classroom preparation and retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies.
• May supervise and assist students in library, classrooms, resource rooms, or on/off the bus
