The role assists teachers with instruction, supports students with health/behavioral needs, and helps with classroom preparation and materials. Applicants must meet education requirements and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• AA degree or higher OR 72 college quarter credit hours OR valid ParaPro/Paraprofessional assessment.
• Official documentation required upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with diverse needs.
• Support students with physical, behavioral, or health-related needs.
• Develop daily living and behavioral skills as part of instruction.
• Assist with classroom preparation, storage and retrieval of equipment and supplies.
• May supervise students in library, classrooms, playgrounds or on the bus.
