Job summary

Hands of Heartland in Omaha, NE is seeking a compassionate Para-Educator to support students with IEPs under the guidance of a certified teacher.

You will help develop academic skills, daily living abilities, and social-emotional supports, while recording progress data and helping students transition from school to adult living. Monday–Friday, 8a–4p, full-time position.

• Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Dependable transportation.
• Experience not required- we will train you!
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Salary Range: $19.00 To $21.00 Hourly

Hands of Heartland is looking for a compassionate and caring individual to work with the people we support as a Para-Educator in Omaha, NE.

What You’ll Do:

Under the guidance of a certified Special Education teacher, you will work with one or more school-age students with an IEP to provide targeted academic skills, daily living skills and social/emotional support to reduce or eliminate barriers to independent adult living. Students may need assistance with self-care and/or mobility. Coaches will work with students on their IEP goals and do daily data recording on these goals. Coaches will also work with students on daily living skills in the classroom and out in the community. You will assist students in transitioning from school to adult living by providing real life experiences and helping them to be as independent as possible.

Hours:

Full-time hours. Monday through Friday from 8a-4p.
