Job summary

Lake Washington School District is seeking a paraprofessional to support teachers and students at Franklin Elementary. The role includes assisting with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical or behavioral needs, and helping manage daily living skills and health care support as needed.

This 180-day calendar position offers 3.0 hours per day, with shift from 12:30 to 3:30. Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma or higher, and may need an AA or 72 college

• Must be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Hold an AA degree or higher OR two years of college credit (72 quarter hours) OR pass ParaPro or Pearson paraprofessional assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical or behavioral needs.
• Support students' health care needs and help develop daily living and behavioral skills.
• Assist staff with classroom preparation, retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies; supervise students in various settings including library, classrooms, playground, or bus.

Hourly Rate: $30.79/hour position (SC7ParaEd26-27.pdf) Position is eligible for membership in the Teamsters Local Union No. 763 which is part of the Lake Washington School District Trades Bargaining Council No. 763 (TBC).

Job Summary

Assists teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs or are medically fragile. Supports students' special health care needs and develops daily living and behavioral skills. Assists staff with classroom preparation and retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies. May supervise and assist students in library, classrooms, resource rooms, self-contained classroom, playgrounds, or getting on and off a bus.

Education And Experience Requirements

Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR

Completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours, OR

Passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher, OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher.

Official documentation will be required upon hire.

Must pass criminal background check
