Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Reliability Engineer for our paper mill facility in Michigan. You will plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance of pumps, conveyors, boilers, turbines, and related systems to maximize uptime and reliability.

You will apply maintenance best practices, conduct root cause analysis, develop preventive programs, and utilize CMMS data to drive improvement while collaborating with operations and procurement to support upgrades and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 1-3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems used in papermaking processes.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities for papermaking equipment.
• Lead troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues using root cause analysis.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs using RCM principles.
• Oversee maintenance tasks including inspections, lubrication, alignment, and replacements.
• Use CMMS to manage work orders, track history, and analyze maintenance data.
• Collaborate with operations, reliability, and procurement on upgrades and reliability projects.
• Participate in installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and upgrades.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, equipment specs, manuals, and spare parts.
