Job summary

Sofidel America, a subsidiary of the Sofidel Group, is seeking a Production Manager for its Papermill division in Lewiston, ID. You will lead daily tissue production, coach a team, and drive safety and efficiency across stock prep and papermaking processes.

The role requires strong leadership, lean thinking, and hands-on quality control to meet production targets while managing resources and budgets. Weekend/evening flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in paper science, engineering, or related field.
• At least 2 years in paper manufacturing, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of papermaking processes, equipment, and quality control.
• Proven leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiar with safety regulations and compliance.
• Proficiency with production planning and reporting software.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily paper production operations for tissue machines and stock preparation.
• Lead, coach, and mentor production staff with focus on safety and continuous improvement.
• Allocate resources effectively to optimize output and minimize downtime.
• Ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations through QC.
• Promote safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and lean improvements.
• Manage raw materials and finished goods inventory to balance stock levels.
• Assist in budgeting and cost control for the department.
• Oversee capital projects on tissue machines and stock prep areas, including budgeting and vendor management.
