Job summary

Sheridan Lebanon Junction, a CJK Company, is hiring a Paper Supply Specialist (Roll Tender) for the 3rd shift. You will help keep our web offset presses supplied with paper and running smoothly, including loading rolls, threading through press components, and preparing backups for continuous operation.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of offset press procedures and materials, or willing to learn through hands-on training.
• Able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Able to solve routine problems with a few clear variables.
• Able to read, copy, and record numbers accurately.
• Able to perform basic addition and subtraction.
• Able to read and follow job specifications to identify materials needed.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn to adjust an automatic splicer.
• Detail-oriented and pride in producing quality work.
• Works well with others and supports a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect rolls of paper for tears, blemishes, or damage and remove damaged areas.
• Load paper rolls onto the press's automatic splicing unit.
• Secure rolls and thread paper through press components.
• Prepare backup rolls with adhesive strips for continuous press operation.
• Remove leftover rolls after automatic splicing.
• May operate a mechanical truck or similar equipment to transport rolls to the press area.
• Assist with press make-ready tasks, such as hanging plates, preparing blankets, and adjusting tension.
• Clean the press and maintain or clean press components.
• Prepare and load flat stock into a sheet-fed press when needed.
• Follow safety procedures and work with the Press team.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.

What You'll Do

As a Paper Supply Specialist , you'll help keep our web offset printing presses supplied with paper and running smoothly by:

• Following safety procedures and working collaboratively with the Press team.
• Completing other duties and special projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience with web offset printing operations.
• Knowledge of paper, press materials, and production requirements.
• Experience loading paper rolls and preparing splices for continuous press operation.
• Experience adjusting or troubleshooting automatic splicing equipment.

Physical & Work Environment

This is an active, hands-on manufacturing role that includes:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Standing on concrete floors 8-12 hours per shift
• Walking, carrying, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
• Working around machinery moving at high productions speeds.
• Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels and occasional exposure to atmospheric conditions and other environmental factors.
• Constant use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required due to the nature of the work environment.
