Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Production Operator to safely operate paper bag machines, perform setup, quality checks, and assist with improvements to meet customer demand. You will work with touch screen controls, handle materials, and maintain safety and housekeeping across the shift.

Responsibilities include machine adjustments, start-up support, quality inspections, and training of assistants. Overtime may be required to meet customer demand and production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months' experience in some type of manufacturing operation.
• Prior work experience in the packaging industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate paper bag machines including setup, operation, quality checks, cleanup.
• Follow Pratt Industries Safety rules and procedures; participate in safety committees.
• Perform machine adjustments and maintenance tasks; use touch screen controls.
• Support start-up operations by stripping, preparing, setting and changing rolls, ink, or other materials.
• Perform finishing tasks: gather finished product, bag/box as required, and inspect quality.
• Maintain accurate counts during packing and keep pace with production speeds.
• Ensure cases are secured and organized to prevent shifting.
• Learn and comply with quality procedures; stop bad quality from leaving the facility.
