Georgia-Pacific in Rincon, GA is recruiting for a Paper Machine Advanced Technician. The schedule is Monday through Friday 6am to 4pm, with nights, weekends, holidays and overtime may be required. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Our Savannah River Mill in Rincon, GA operates multiple large tissue machines and converts products from recycled fiber. You will identify hazards, service and repair equipment, troubleshoot processes, and support asset strategy while building

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a millwright or maintenance technician.
• Experience using SAP to initiate repairs and document reliability.
• Experience with mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience reading blueprints and performing lubrication tasks.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify hazards and mitigate risk.
• Service, maintain, and repair equipment to the desired state.
• Troubleshoot assets and processes and participate in root cause analysis.
• Support asset strategy execution and develop technician capabilities.
• Assist in shutdown planning and lead execution of that work.
• Learn and apply equipment operation theory and processes.

Our Team

Our Savannah River Mill in Rincon, GA began operations in October 1986 and is considered a world-class operation in the industry. Five of the world’s 12 largest tissue paper machines reside at the facility. Our operation is designed to produce products primarily from recycled fiber. We have over 50 converting lines that make the tissue, towel, and napkin products in our retail and away from home markets. What You Will Do

• Proactively identify hazards and mitigate risk
• Service, maintain, and repair equipment to the desired competitive state
• Troubleshoot assets and processes and participate in root cause analysis to solve problems
• Support asset strategy execution, while also continuously building technician capabilities through the PSQ process
• Assist in shutdown planning and lead execution of that work
• Apply knowledge of GP mechanical reliability standards
• Assist technicians with OBC/ Lubrication routes
• Learn, apply, and teach the equipment theory of operation and the operational processes

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• One (1) or more year(s) of experience as a millwright, shop mechanic, industrial maintenance mechanic, fabricator, or reliability technician

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
• Experience in equipment repair, blueprint reading, lubrication
• Experience using SAP to initiate repairs and document reliability opportunities
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Experience in mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting and repairing
