Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Rincon, GA is seeking a Fixed Equipment Inspector to join our mill team. The role may require nights, weekends, holidays and overtime with a Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:30pm schedule; hours can change based on business needs.

Responsibilities include inspecting storage tanks, pressure vessels, piping, and relief devices per API/ASME codes and documenting findings. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in an industrial setting, with strong safety

Qualifications

  • Must comply with mill safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Experience inspecting storage tanks, pressure vessels, piping and relief devices.
  • Experience documenting inspection findings and writing reports.
  • Strong teamwork and ability to work with maintenance teams.

Your Job

Georgia Pacific in Rincon, GA is recruiting for a Fixed Equipment Inspector. This role will require a dayshift schedule but may include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime. Compensation in this role will be commensurate with experience. The schedule in this role will be Monday - Friday 7am to 3:30pm. Work hours are subject to change based on business need.

Our Savannah River Mill in Rincon, GA began operations in October 1986 and is considered a world-class operation in the industry. Five of the world's 12 largest tissue paper machines reside at the facility. Our operation is designed to produce products primarily from recycled fiber. We have over 50 converting lines that make the tissue, towel, and napkin products in our retail and away from home markets. What You Will Do
  • Adhere to all mill safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Help assist or operate machinery to expected performance levels
  • Assist crew members and work team environment
  • Help meet or exceed production and quality goals
  • Demonstrate leadership or potential leadership skills

*Work with the site MI Coordinator and contractors to implement and follow-up on proactive inspection programs that identify possible failures before they occur

*Work with site maintenance, contractors, and engineers

*Perform hands-on inspection of storage tanks, pressure vessels, pressure piping, and relief devices in the mill

*This position requires climbing, confined space entry, and the use of Non-Destructive Testing equipment and techniques

*Responsibilities include obtaining inspection knowledge and executing inspections on:

o Storage tanks (per API 653) and Tile/Concrete Tanks

o Pressure Vessels (ASME section VIII & I, per API 510)

o Piping (per API 570) and others CPVC, HDPE, etc.

o Safety Relief Devices (ASME code and non-code)

*Demonstrate moderate level computer skills. Document inspection findings (report writing), analyze and interpret inspection data ( math skills with formula use as required), recommend and help develop repair plans, update inspection plans, develop and execute shutdown inspection plans, write maintenance notifications for repairs, and follow-up on completed repairs

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years of experience in an industrial /manufacturing or labor-intensive environment
  • Experience working in an environment that requires strict adherence to safety policies and procedures
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience in maintenance and reliability
  • Experience using a computer, tablet for basic record-keeping and documentation, and work request writing
  • Experience working in confined spaces and working at heights
  • Experience with technical report writing
  • SAP experience
  • Experience working with Visual Aim or a related vessel tracking system (D-Maps, etc.)
  • Experience with visual inspections, and quality control
  • Welding certifications (CWI)
  • American Petroleum Institute certifications
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certification
