Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC in Rincon, GA is hiring a Converting Advanced Technician. The role features a 4-day-10-hour shift schedule (Mon-Thu and Tue-Fri), with hours from 5:50 am to 4:10 pm and changes based on business needs.

The team operates a world-class tissue, towel, and napkin production environment with a focus on recycled fiber. You will identify hazards, support safe shutdowns, troubleshoot assets, mentor others, and contribute to asset reliability across converting lines.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience as a reliability technician or similar manufacturing maintenance role.
• Experience using work order systems (SAP or similar).
• Experience in Converting operations.
• Mentoring and coaching team members.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify hazards, mitigate risk, and support safe shutdowns and maintenance work through permits.
• Adhere to high standards for quality and product safety.
• Troubleshoot assets and processes in the retail product system.
• Develop asset strategies by evaluating operating limits, OBC, lube routes, and preventive maintenance plans.
• Lead and coach technicians to build capabilities and improve performance.
• Assist in shutdown planning and execution of work.
• Execute equipment changeovers and optimize procedures.
• Collaborate with team to solve problems and find root causes.
• Learn and teach equipment theory and manufacturing processes.
• Apply GP mechanical reliability standards.

Job description

Georgia Pacific facility in Rincon, GA is currently recruiting for a Converting Advanced Technician.

Shift: 4 10-hour shifts (Monday to Thursday and Tuesday to Friday, 5:50 am to 4:10 pm). Hours are subject to change based on business need.

Compensation: Is commensurate with experience.

Our Team

Our Savannah River Mill in Rincon, GA began operations in October 1986 and is considered a world-class operation in the industry. Five of the world’s 12 largest tissue paper machines reside at the facility. Our operation is designed to produce products primarily from recycled fiber. We have over 50 converting lines that make the tissue, towel, and napkin products in our retail and away from home markets. What You Will Do

• Proactively identify hazards. mitigate risk, and support safe execution of shutdown and maintenance work through issuing permits
• Adhere to high standards for quality and product safety
• Troubleshoot assets and processes in the retail product system
• Apply knowledge and expertise while building and improving asset strategies by evaluating and developing operating limits, operator basic core (OBC) and lube routes, planned work, preventative maintenance job plans, and vendor-recommended parts strategies, providing feedback and recommendations when needed
• Develop Technician and Reliability Technician capabilities through coaching, mentoring and field assessments
• Assist in shutdown planning and lead execution of that work
• Execute equipment changeovers and optimize changeover procedures
• Actively lead and collaborate with team members to solve problems and drive to the root cause
• Learn, apply and teach equipment theory of operation and manufacturing processes
• Apply knowledge of GP mechanical reliability standards

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Two or more years of experience as a reliability technician OR similar manufacturing maintenance role

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience using work order systems to initiate repairs and document reliability opportunities (SAP or a similar system)
• Experience in Converting operations
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching team members
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting and repairing
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite in: Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Experience supporting asset reliability initiatives and shutdown planning
