Job summary

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is seeking a Pantry Coordinator to manage daily pantry operations, stock and organize spaces, and train volunteers. You will assist neighbors, help with intake, and connect them to resources available through the pantry’s Resource Room.

This role supports Direct Service programs across the eight-county area. Primary site is the Stark county campus with potential travel; evening and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years in a community-based, customer service, pantry, retail, restaurant, warehouse or similar environment preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with neighbors, volunteers and staff.
• Ability to organize work, follow procedures, and maintain accurate records.
• Forklift certification required or willingness to become certified; operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pantry Supervisor with daily pantry operations, including set-up, distribution, restocking, and closing procedures.
• Stock shelves, refrigerators, freezers, organize food, maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming pantry.
• Train, direct, and support pantry volunteers, assign tasks, and ensure safety.
• Greet neighbors, assist intake/registration, and maintain organized pantry flow.
• Receive food, move inventory, rotate products, monitor expiration dates, and maintain records.
• Connect neighbors with resources and community partnerships in the pantry Resource Room.
• Support ordering, inventory, and compliance with safety standards and documentation.
