  • Valid Florida driver’s license and ability to drive cargo van or 16-ft truck.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates direct distribution programs including indoor pantry, Mobile Pantry, drive-through distributions, and satellite sites.
  • Provides on-site leadership during pantry hours for volunteers and clients.
  • Communicates with volunteers to ensure training and service delivery.
  • Maintains a safe, clean environment for staff, volunteers, and clients.
  • Coordinates volunteer needs and schedules with Volunteer Services.
  • Serves as liaison with external partners and local agencies.
  • Plans and coordinates volunteer groups for food distribution events.
  • Develops and maintains schedules and logistics for distribution activities.
  • Oversees logistics for transporting food between facilities and pantry locations.
  • Sets up drive-thru and indoor pantry and assists with distribution and cleanup.
  • Monitors program performance and ensures compliance with safety and grant requirements.
  • Assists in identifying underserved communities and expands access to food resources.

Description

The Pantry Coordinator is responsible for managing and expanding St. Pete Free Clinic’s direct food distribution programs to ensure equitable access to nutritious food for individuals and families who face barriers to traditional pantry services. This role works closely with community partners, volunteers, and internal teams to deliver services that are neighbor-centered and aligned with the organization’s best practices.

Position Responsibilities


  • Facilitates direct distribution programs, including at SPFC’s Indoor Choice Pantry, Mobile Pantry, drive-through distributions, and/or satellite sites.

  • Provides on-site leadership and support during pantry hours to ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for both volunteers and clients.

  • Continuously communicates with volunteers to ensure proper training and delivery of client services model.

  • Maintains a safe, clean, attractive environment for staff, volunteers, and clients.

  • Communicates volunteer needs and schedules in collaboration with the Volunteer Services team, including recruiting needs.

  • Serves as the primary liaison between SPFC and external partners, including community organizations, volunteers, and local agencies.

  • Plans and coordinates small to large volunteer groups for food distribution events and activities.

  • Builds and sustains strong relationships to enhance program reach and effectiveness. Provides support to Program Director in coordination, establishment and expansion of food access partnerships.

  • Develops and maintains schedules and logistics for all direct distribution activities.

  • Oversees logistics for transporting food and materials between SPFC facilities and pantry locations, maintaining accuracy and safety standards.

  • Sets up drive-thru and indoor pantry, oversees and assists with distribution, break down and clean up upon completion.

  • Coordinates with warehouse team to ensure smooth execution of pantry processes and food distributions.

  • Monitors program performance and suggests improvements to enhance accessibility and client experience.

  • Ensures compliance with food safety standards, organizational policies, and grant requirements.

  • Assists in the identification of underserved communities and development strategies to increase access to food resources.

  • Assists with warehouse, Food Bank, or other program functionality and duties as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:


  • 1-3 years of experience in warehouse operations, social service programs, retail, or combination of education and experience

  • Have a valid, clean Florida driver’s license

  • Ability to drive cargo van and/or 16ft truck is required

  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, and equipment used in warehouse operation preferred

  • Possess or obtain food handler certification preferred



Physical Requirements


  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds or more and have ability and stamina to repeatedly lift 10-30 pounds daily

  • Ability to stand for 6-8 hours

  • Ability to drive for program activities

  • Ability to work in a combination of warehouse and outdoor setting

  • Ability to operate motorized warehouse equipment
