Job summary

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. seeks a Food Resource Associate to ensure smooth operations of the Food Pantry Network and Community Health & Wellness events.

You will assist with food deliveries, pantry upkeep, and waste disposal, while supporting event setup for workshops and health initiatives. The role requires driving, ability to lift light–moderate loads, and flexibility to work evenings or weekends; contribute to donations efforts and uphold agency policies and HIPAA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; may be waived for 2 years relevant experience.
• Valid Food Safety Certificate preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required, with clean driving history within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Supports the deliveries of food resources to the network of food pantries– checking invoices, stocking and organizing.
• Maintains clean and orderly food pantries
• Breakdown of boxes and disposal of cardboard as per Dept. of Sanitation Recycling regulations. Empty waste baskets and garbage cans.
• Provides support to Community Program Services, Office of Mission and Health and Wellness Initiative Educator staff in the set up and breakdown of chairs and tables as necessitated to accommodate various events and workshops.
• Collection of donations from various organizations as needed in addition to annual Toy Drive donations from parishes and organizations.
• Adheres to all funding source standards in addition to the Agency policies and procedures; seeks guidance/clarification from their supervisor regarding interpretation, applicability, and implementation.
• Strictly adheres to and enforces all the Agency policies regarding Confidentiality, HIPAA requirements, and Corporate Compliance regulations.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Director of Community Programming, Associate Director of Health and Wellness Initiative and Supervisor of Food Resource Services
