Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee seeks a dedicated outreach role to promote student voting and civic engagement. You will use campus materials to inform students about elections and voting registration, create promotional content, and coordinate tabling, programming, and outreach with the Panthers Vote team.

You will train Orientation Leaders and student leaders, participate in planning meetings, and staff events on election days, National Voter Registration Day, and Constitution Day,

Responsibilities

• Utilize provided marketing materials for outreach to UWM students about upcoming elections and their process for voting registration.
• Create marketing materials regarding elections and voter registration as needed.
• Coordinate and facilitate tabling, social and educational programming, and student outreach prior to elections in partnership with the Panthers Vote Coordinator.
• Assist with voting-related e-mail and social media outreach to students in collaboration with the Panthers Vote Coordinator, Student Affairs marketing, and UWM Marketing and Communication.
• Promote student voting around major campus events to encourage new students to register to vote.
• Provide training and outreach to Orientation Leaders, Resident Assistants, classes, and student leaders as requested around student voting.
• Attend twice-monthly meetings with the Panthers Vote Coordinator for planning, feedback, and idea generation.
• Staff voting promotion events on election days, National Voter Registration Day, Constitution Day, and other civic celebration days.
• Engage in ongoing training and education on voting processes and changes that may impact UWM students.
• Maintain a non-partisan approach to voting promotion whenever acting in their capacity as a Dean of Student Office Panthers Vote employee.

• Create marketing materials regarding elections and voter registration as needed

• Promote student voting around major campus events like University Housing Move in and Fall Welcome to encourage new students to register to vote


• Provide training and outreach to Orientation Leaders, Resident Assistant, classes, and student leaders as requested around student voting


• Attend twice-monthly meetings with the PanthersVote Coordinator for planning, feedback, and idea generation


• Staff voting promotion events on election days, National Voter Registration Day, Constitution Day, and other civic celebration days
