Summary:

At AID, no two control panels are exactly the same. As a Panel Builder I, you'll learn to assemble and wire electrical control panels for water and wastewater treatment facilities, starting on simpler, more standardized builds - including panels using Variable Frequency Drives, Soft Starts, and Programmable Logic Controllers or relay logic. This is a hands‑on entry point into custom panel building, with mentorship from senior panel builders as you grow into more complex work. You'll help ensure processes and procedures are followed and properly documented as part of the manufacturing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and begin building fluency with electrical schematics, schematic symbols, panel components, and general wiring practices
  • Learn proper sizing of power cabling per the NEC under supervision
  • Operate hand and power tools including drills, jig saws, knockout punches, and electric/hydraulic crimpers
  • Print wire and component labels using standard labeling software
  • Assemble components to back pans and enclosures and wire per electrical schematic, on simpler/standardized builds
  • Develop precision in wire connections and component placement with guidance from senior team members
  • Assist with electrical testing of completed panels to confirm functionality and identify wiring errors
  • Progress toward full custom panel builds as skills and experience develop

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of electrical theory (voltage, current, power, circuit design), gained through coursework, training, or hands‑on exposure
  • Ability to read a tape measure and use standard hand and power tools
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to safe and organized housekeeping
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable in an industrial environment involving manual labor; able to bend/lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Compliance with all PPE requirements
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety leadership practices
Preferred
  • 2- or 4-year degree in MET/EET, or a mechatronics certification, or coursework in progress
  • Some completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent electrical training
  • Any prior exposure to industrial control panels, UL/NEC standards, or a 5S manufacturing environment
