Job summary

Lilly BioTechnology Center in San Diego seeks a Molecular and Cellular Biochemist to design and produce antigen constructs for AI-based antibody design and patient-derived discovery workflows. Initial focus is Ebola GP and expanded to high-consequence pathogens.

Located at the Lilly BioTechnology Center in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities include antibody discovery, protein engineering, and reagent development with cross-disciplinary collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

PhD in biochemistry, structural biology, virology, or related field with 2+ years post‑grad in a virology‑related field.
Strong proficiency in protein biochemistry including expression, purification, and biophysical characterization.
Preference for experience with filovirus biology (Ebola) and antibody discovery.

Responsibilities

Design and implement capabilities to enable antibody discovery and engineering against infectious agents.
Produce recombinant viral antigen constructs and reagents optimized for discovery screening and structural biology.
Build and maintain a pathogen readiness package with expression constructs and validated reagents.
