Preferred Materials, Inc. in Palmetto, Florida is seeking an experienced Ready Mix Plant Manager to lead operations, safety, and customer service. You will head production, fleet coordination, and staff development while maintaining quality and performance targets.

You will build a high-performing team, drive continuous improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance. This hands-on leader role offers growth within a major CRH company and a locally critical operation serving Florida’s growth

Qualifications

• Experience within the ready mix concrete industry.
• Strong leadership, supervisory, and team development skills.
• Ability to manage plant operations in a fast-paced production environment.
• Effective communication with employees, customers, and business partners.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn batching and operational systems.
• Ability to work outdoors and perform the physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of ready mix plant operations, batching activities, and daily production.
• Ensure timely, accurate concrete production while meeting mix design specifications and customer requirements.
• Manage inventory levels, raw material ordering, and plant performance.
• Monitor key performance indicators and drive continuous operational improvements.
• Maximize plant uptime, efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Provide leadership, coaching, training, and support to drivers, yard personnel, and plant staff.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on accountability, communication, and operational excellence.
• Lead with a safety-first mindset and ensure compliance with all company, state, and federal regulations.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and serve as a local ambassador for Preferred Materials.
