Job summary

Cumming Group is seeking a Project Engineer in Palmdale, CA to support public sector projects for a local municipality. You will provide design, technical and administrative support across preconstruction, construction and closeout phases, coordinating with contractors, architects and school staff.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field and at least five years in construction project management, with knowledge of public

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of construction project management experience.
• Experience with public works projects.
• Knowledge of public contracting code; FF&E coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide design, technical, engineering, and administrative support to the project team during preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, consultants and school staff.
• Manage project documents: minutes, RFIs, submittals, change orders, ASIs, schedules.
• Review and manage comments from project stakeholders.
• Participate in design construction or pre-bid meetings as needed.
• Perform field checks to ensure compliance with plans and school standards.
• Read and interpret construction plans, specs, and shop drawings.
• Prepare written materials and project status reports.
