Job summary

The University of Maryland, Baltimore is recruiting an academic palliative medicine physician to join a growing interdisciplinary team within the Division of Gerontology, Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the School of Medicine.

The position offers opportunities to contribute to inpatient consultation, ambulatory palliative care, and hospital-based GIP hospice services, with a tailored role leveraging clinical, educational, scholarly, and leadership strengths.

Qualifications

• Requires medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Board-certified or eligible in Palliative Medicine.
• Strong foundation in internal medicine, teaching and research or quality improvement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient palliative medicine consultation.
• Develop ambulatory palliative care programs.
• Lead and grow the General Inpatient (GIP) hospice program, including potential Medical Director role.
• Include teaching, quality improvement, program development and research as part of duties.
