Job description

Endeavor Health Medical Group (NorthShore), the principal academic affiliate of The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, is currently seeking a resource per diem, dynamic, team-oriented Palliative Care physician to join the Department of Medicine. The successful candidate will be board certified or eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

The selected candidate will join a collegial team of four physicians, board certified in Hospital and Palliative Medicine with specialties in geriatrics, oncology, and hospital medicine, along with nine APNs and a social worker. Responsibilities include inpatient palliative care and hospice, palliative care clinics embedded in oncology departments, home-based palliative care, and hospice medical director responsibilities. The role also involves teaching residents and fellows, participation in committees, and leadership development. Academic appointment is available for qualified candidates.

Our Endeavor Health Palliative Care Service supports patients at any stage of a life-threatening illness, employing a multi-disciplinary approach. Our specialists are available at the request of attending physicians to assist in coordinating and managing palliative and hospice patients. The hospital system is highly supportive, with a focus on quality improvement and expanding our program.

Position Highlights

• Participation in weeknight and weekend call, prorated based on FTE

Experience and Qualifications
