Job summary

Trinity Health's Mount Carmel team is seeking a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner (APRN- NP) to manage care for palliative and cancer patients. You will see patients in clinic and round on Mount Carmel Hospitals under a day shift schedule (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm) with occasional Saturdays, and potential 4x10 shifts.

Required Masters in Science/Nursing or specialty, Ohio RN license, APN certification, BLS, and a DEA license or eligibility. 2-3 years APP experience in Palliative Care preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters required in Science, Nursing or Specialty field.
• Graduate of an Advanced Practitioner program.
• Current Ohio RN license to practice.
• Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in designated specialty.
• BLS certification required.
• DEA license for controlled substances or ability to obtain.
• 2-3 years APP experience in Palliative Care or higher.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage care of palliative and cancer patients in clinic and on hospital rounds.
• Provide APRN - NP specialty palliative care services per scope and standards.
• Attend to patients on Mount Carmel Hospitals and in clinic.
• Day shift Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. with occasional Saturday shifts; possible 4x10 shifts.

This APRN will manage the care of palliative, cancer patients. They will see patients in clinic and round on patients in the Mount Carmel Hospitals.

*May be able to accommodate 4, 10-hour shifts during the week as well

About the job:

The APRN - NP Specialty for Palliative Care provides acute healthcare services for specialty health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

This APRN will manage the care of palliative, cancer patients. They will see patients in clinic and round on patients in the Mount Carmel Hospitals.

The primary shift will be Day, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with an occasional Saturday shift.

What you need:

• Education: Masters required in Science, Nursing or Specialty field. Graduate of an Advanced Practitioner program
• Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio
• Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in designated specialty required.
• BLS provider certification required
• Holds a DEA license for controlled substances or ability to obtain as required
• All qualifications above are subject to grandfathering by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years recent and relevant APP experience in Palliative Care is higher preferred
• Effective Communication Skills
