Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH, seeks an APRN - NP Specialty to deliver acute care to hematology and oncology patients across inpatient consults, clinics, and infusion center rounds. The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nursing, and support staff to ensure seamless patient journeys.

The position requires a Master's in Nursing, Ohio RN licensure, and APN certification with oncology experience; DEA license and BLS at minimum, plus ACLS/NRP/EFM/PALs where applicable.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or related Advanced Practitioner field.
• Current Ohio RN license and ANCC-certified APN in designated specialty preferred.
• 2–3 years oncology APP experience required.
• DEA license or ability to obtain; BLS required; ACLS/NRP/EFM/PALs for some departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute healthcare services for hematology and oncology patients in inpatient consults, clinic, and infusion center rounds.
• Lead chemo patient rounds in outpatient infusion center and coordinate care with multidisciplinary team.
• Work primarily days (8:00–16:30) with occasional shift coverage.

Job description

The APRN - NP Specialty provides acute healthcare services for specialty health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

APRN will manage the care of hematology and oncology patients. They will see both inpatient consults as well as patients in clinic and round on patients receiving chemo in the outpatient infusion center.

The primary shift will be Day, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with occasional need to cover other shifts.

What you need:

• Education: Masters required in Science, Nursing or Specialty field. Graduate of an Advanced Practitioner program
• Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio
• Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in designated specialty required. American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) is preferred
• Physician Assistant will be considered as well
• BLS provider certification required
• ACLS, NRP, EFM and PALs required for some departments
• Holds a DEA license for controlled substances or ability to obtain as required
• All qualifications above are subject to grandfathering by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years recent and relevant APP experience in oncology
• Effective Communication Skills
