Job summary

Mount Carmel is seeking an APRN - NP in Palliative Care to manage care for palliative and cancer patients in clinic and on Mount Carmel Hospitals. The role involves day shifts, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday coverage, and potential for 4, 10-hour shifts during the week.

Requirements include a Master's in Nursing or related field, Advanced Practice certification, Ohio RN license, BLS, and a valid DEA or ability to obtain.

Qualifications

• Masters required in Science, Nursing or Specialty field.
• Graduate of an Advanced Practitioner program.
• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Ohio.
• Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in designated specialty.
• BLS provider certification required.
• DEA license or ability to obtain as required.
• Previous 2–3 years APP experience in Palliative Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage care of palliative and cancer patients in clinic and on hospital rounds.
• Provide day shift coverage Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. with occasional Saturday shifts.

About The Job

The APRN - NP Specialty for Palliative Care provides acute healthcare services for specialty health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

This APRN will manage the care of palliative, cancer patients. They will see patients in clinic and round on patients in the Mount Carmel Hospitals.

The primary shift will be Day, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with an occasional Saturday shift.

• May be able to accommodate 4, 10-hour shifts during the week as well.

What You Need

• Education: Masters required in Science, Nursing or Specialty field. Graduate of an Advanced Practitioner program
• Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio
• Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in designated specialty required.
• BLS provider certification required
• Holds a DEA license for controlled substances or ability to obtain as required
• All qualifications above are subject to grandfathering by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years recent and relevant APP experience in Palliative Care is higher preferred
• Effective Communication Skills
