Job summary

Alta Equipment Company is seeking a detail-oriented Pallet Rack Engineer with strong CAD expertise to design safe, efficient warehouse storage systems. You will lead structural layouts, calculate loads, and ensure compliance with RMI standards and building codes.

The role requires collaboration with sales, project managers, and installation crews, along with travel within the assigned region. A Bachelor’s in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain is preferred, with CAD proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with CRM tools, MS Office, and project management software.
• Willingness to travel about 75% within the assigned region.
• Working knowledge of warehouse solutions and racking systems.

Responsibilities

• CAD design and modeling of racking systems in 2D/3D.
• Structural engineering: compute loads, seismic forces, and stability.
• Ensure designs comply with RMI standards, codes, and specs.
• Prepare engineering calculations and drawings for permits.
• Collaborate with sales, project managers, and installation crews.
• Review BOMs and manufacturing drawings for quality assurance.
