Job summary

Columbia Forest Products is seeking a full-time production teammate to support pallet dismantling and quality prep on-site. You will operate the dismantling machine, push/pull pallets, replace blades as needed, and clear jams to minimize downtime.

Requirements include being 18+, able to lift 50 lbs, stand throughout the shift, and read a tape measure. Training is provided; strong teamwork and reliability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Self-driven and able to keep up in a fast-paced, physical job.

Responsibilities

• Operate the pallet dismantling machine, ensuring safe and efficient dismantling of inbound pallets.
• As the pusher, push pallets through the machine; as the puller, pull dismantled pallets through the machine.
• Change broken or loose blades to ensure continuous operation.
• Unjam pallets or boards stuck in the machine, maintaining minimal downtime.
• Ensure pallets are free of debris before dismantling.
• Dismantle pallets in a manner that minimizes damage and cut marks to the materials.
• Properly prepare dismantled parts by removing protruding nails, screws, and other materials that could affect further processing.

Job description

Pay: $11.00/hr starting out and a weekly attendance bonus.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Pallet Dismantling:
  • Operate the pallet dismantling machine, ensuring safe and efficient dismantling of inbound pallets.
  • As the pusher, push pallets through the machine; as the puller, pull dismantled pallets through the machine.
  • Change broken or loose blades to ensure continuous operation.
  • Unjam pallets or boards stuck in the machine, maintaining minimal downtime.
• Quality Control & Prep:
  • Ensure pallets are free of debris before dismantling.
  • Dismantle pallets in a manner that minimizes damage and cut marks to the materials.
  • Properly prepare dismantled parts by removing protruding nails, screws, and other materials that could affect further processing.
  • Send quality recycled parts to the lumber sorter for further processing.
