Job summary

Columbia Forest Products in Kentucky is seeking a full-time Pallet Dismantler to operate the pallet dismantling machine, push and pull pallets, and change blades to keep production moving safely. You will perform quality control and prep, removing debris, nails, and protrusions, and send good parts to the lumber sorter for further processing.

Requirements include being 18 years or older, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, standing for the full shift, reading a tape measure, and working well with

Job description

Pay: $11.00/hr starting out and a weekly attendance bonus.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Pallet Dismantling:
  • Operate the pallet dismantling machine, ensuring safe and efficient dismantling of inbound pallets.
  • As the pusher, push pallets through the machine; as the puller, pull dismantled pallets through the machine.
  • Change broken or loose blades to ensure continuous operation.
  • Unjam pallets or boards stuck in the machine, maintaining minimal downtime.
• Quality Control & Prep:
  • Ensure pallets are free of debris before dismantling.
  • Dismantle pallets in a manner that minimizes damage and cut marks to the materials.
  • Properly prepare dismantled parts by removing protruding nails, screws, and other materials that could affect further processing.
  • Send quality recycled parts to the lumber sorter for further processing.

• Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:45 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Occasional voluntary overtime
