Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Data Engineer to join a global IT systems implementation for the Department of State. You will review data policies, transform, and analyze data to support data-driven decisions and create visualizations.

The role involves developing governance artifacts, building pipelines with Palantir Foundry, coordinating with non-technical users, and ensuring data quality across sources. The team aims to improve architecture and support mission goals.

Qualifications

• Active and maintained Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree and 3 years’ hands-on data engineering or database management.
• Experience using Palantir Foundry to clean, transform, and integrate data.
• Experience reading and cleaning data from external tables and importing it into relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Define data requirements and ensure storage, availability, and coherence of electronically stored information meets the client’s needs.
• Develop data pipelines involving collecting, transforming, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources, using tools such as Palantir.

• Identify, summarize, and catalog data fidelity issues, and make recommendations to the client on how to resolve or mitigate the issues.

What You Will Do

The Data Engineer will join a dynamic team supporting a global implementation of IT systems at the Department of State. In this role, the candidate will review and support the client’s data policies, processes, and standards to identify strengths and areas for improvement and provide recommendations for the current and future architecture to support data and analytical needs. The candidate will also collect, transform, integrate, and analyze data to identify trends, assess performance, and develop visualizations in support of organizational and mission goals and data-driven decision-making for the client.

• Develop and maintain data governance documentation, tools, and templates.
• Define data requirements and ensure storage, availability, and coherence of electronically stored information meets the client’s needs.
• Develop data pipelines involving collecting, transforming, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources, using tools such as Palantir.
• Coordinate with non-technical users to gather requirements.

What You Will Need

• ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree THREE (3) years’ experience in hands-on data engineering and/or database management.
• Experience using Palantir Foundry to clean, transform, and integrate complex datasets into production systems (e.g., Archibus).
• Experience reading and cleaning data from external tables and importing it into relational database tables.

What Would Be Nice To Have

• SIX (6) years’ experience in hands-on data engineering and/or database management.
• Knowledge of Archibus and/or Kahua.
• Proficiency in querying and joining datasets using SQL.
• Proficiency in data wrangling and analysis using Python.
• Proficiency developing dashboards using Tableau or Power BI.

What We Offer

The annual salary range for this position is $77,000.00-$129,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
