Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Data Engineer to join a global IT implementation for the Department of State. You will review data policies, collect, transform, and analyze data, and develop visualizations to support mission decisions.

The role requires a SECRET clearance and 3+ years in data engineering or database management, with Palantir Foundry experience and proficiency in data integration from multiple sources.

Qualifications

• Active and maintained SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of hands-on data engineering or database management experience.
• Experience using Palantir Foundry to clean, transform, and integrate complex datasets into production systems (e.g., Archibus).
• Experience reading and cleaning data from external tables and importing it into relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Define data requirements and ensure storage, availability, and coherence of electronically stored information.

What You Will Do

The Data Engineer will join a dynamic team supporting a global implementation of IT systems at the Department of State. In this role, the candidate will review and support the client’s data policies, processes, and standards to identify strengths and areas for improvement and provide recommendations for the current and future architecture to support data and analytical needs. The candidate will also collect, transform, integrate, and analyze data to identify trends, assess performance, and develop visualizations in support of organizational and mission goals and data-driven decision-making for the client.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data governance documentation, tools, and templates.
• Define data requirements and ensure storage, availability, and coherence of electronically stored information meets the client’s needs.
• Develop data pipelines involving collecting, transforming, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources, using tools such as Palantir.
• Coordinate with non-technical users to gather requirements.
• Identify, summarize, and catalog data fidelity issues, and make recommendations to the client on how to resolve or mitigate the issues.
• Request, document, report, and analyze data, and where applicable, create tools and resources to support data and reporting.

What You Will Need

• ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree
• THREE (3) years’ experience in hands-on data engineering and/or database management.
• Experience using Palantir Foundry to clean, transform, and integrate complex datasets into production systems (e.g., Archibus).
• Experience reading and cleaning data from external tables and importing it into relational database tables.

What Would Be Nice To Have

• SIX (6) years’ experience in hands-on data engineering and/or database management.
• Knowledge of Archibus and/or Kahua.
• Proficiency in querying and joining datasets using SQL.
• Proficiency in data wrangling and analysis using Python.
• Proficiency developing dashboards using Tableau or Power BI.

The annual salary range for this position is $77,000.00-$129,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
