Senior Palantir AIP / Ontology Architect (Forward Deployed Engineer) – Fully remote
Location: Remote, USA
Contract: Contract (flexible engagement)
Start date: ASAP
Working pattern: Fully remote
About the role
Our client, an enterprise organisation running more than 20 ERP systems, has invested in Palantir Foundry to unify its data and improve operational visibility. The implementation so far has focused on dashboards and reporting, and the next step is a scalable, operational Ontology that can support workflows, automation and AI-driven decision-making. They are looking for a senior, hands‑on Palantir AIP and Ontology architect to lead that work.
The immediate priority is a business-critical Cost Recovery initiative, centred on rates, pricing and financial recovery. You will assess the current environment, identify the architectural gaps and put the improvements in place, then build the AIP and agentic AI capabilities that turn the Ontology into working operational applications. This is a delivery role, and it suits someone who can step into a complex setting, take ownership and solve problems from diagnosis through to deployment.
The role goes beyond dashboard development or traditional BI. The client needs someone who knows how to use Ontology, AI and operational applications to solve complex enterprise problems, and who will leave the organisation with a maintainable architecture and a stronger internal development capability.
Main responsibilities
- Assess the existing Palantir Foundry implementation and identify architectural weaknesses and opportunities for improvement
- Redesign and enhance the Ontology to represent business entities, relationships, operational processes and financial data accurately
- Move the platform from dashboards and reporting towards operational applications, workflows and actionable business intelligence
- Establish Ontology design standards, best practices and scalable development patterns, and mentor the existing technical teams
- Design and implement solutions using Palantir AIP, AIP Logic, Functions and Agent Studio
- Develop AI agents and intelligent workflows that automate business processes and support cost recovery
- Integrate LLM-powered capabilities with enterprise data, Ontology objects and operational workflows, with appropriate security, governance, testing and human-in-the-loop controls
- Lead the technical development of a cost recovery solution across a fragmented ERP landscape, harmonising data from 20+ ERP systems
- Build solutions that identify rate discrepancies, financial leakage, under-recovery and recovery opportunities, supported by scalable data pipelines, reconciliation processes and business logic
- Design and build operational applications using Palantir Workshop, OSDK and relevant full-stack technologies, along with the APIs, custom functions and integrations they need
- Work directly with stakeholders to define requirements, prototype and deploy quickly, and demonstrate measurable financial impact
Requirements
Essential
- Extensive hands‑on experience with Palantir Foundry and AIP, including production implementations
- Deep expertise in Ontology design, including object types, link types, actions and operational workflows
- Demonstrable experience building solutions with AIP Logic, Functions, Agent Studio or equivalent AIP capabilities
- Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, integration and complex ERP environments
- Experience building operational applications rather than purely analytical dashboards
- Strong Python, SQL, data engineering and API integration skills
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, redesign and improve existing Palantir implementations
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments
Desirable
- Previous experience as a Palantir Forward Deployed Engineer, Solution Architect or Technical Lead
- Full-stack development experience using TypeScript, React, OSDK and Workshop
- Experience delivering agentic AI solutions in enterprise production environments
- Background in financial systems, rate management, cost recovery, pricing or revenue assurance
- Experience integrating data across multiple ERP platforms
- Experience mentoring developers and establishing Palantir engineering best practices
The offer
