Job summary

Universal Industrial Painting is seeking skilled Painters/Foremen for on-site work in the Charlotte Metro area. You will perform surface preparation, painting, and coating applications at water and wastewater facilities, coordinating crew activities, ensuring safety and quality, and communicating with project managers.

Full-time, on-site role with regular travel to local job sites and occasional regional projects. Experience in industrial painting, coatings, and leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

Role Description

Painters/Foremen at Universal Industrial Painting perform surface preparation, industrial painting, and coating application on water and wastewater facilities and related structures. Day-to-day responsibilities include cleaning and prepping surfaces, mixing and applying paints and coatings, operating spray painting equipment, and ensuring work meets company and manufacturer specifications. Foremen additionally coordinate crew activities, monitor job progress, enforce safety standards, and communicate with project managers and clients as needed. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Charlotte Metro area, requiring regular travel to local job sites and occasional regional projects.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Paint, Painting, and Painting and Decorating for industrial and structural applications.
• Experience working with Coatings, including protective and corrosion-resistant systems used in industrial environments.
• Hands‑on skills in Spray Painting, including safe operation of sprayers and related equipment.
• Knowledge of surface preparation methods (e.g., cleaning, sanding, blasting) and proper application techniques for concrete and steel.
• Commitment to safety practices, including use of PPE, adherence to OSHA guidelines, and awareness of confined space and fall protection requirements.
• Ability to read and follow job specifications, manufacturer data sheets, and basic drawings or instructions.
• Reliable transportation to job sites in the Charlotte Metro area and willingness to work in varying outdoor and industrial conditions.
• Previous experience in industrial painting or coatings; supervision or crew leadership experience is preferred for Foremen roles.
• Strong communication skills, teamwork mindset, and ability to mentor and guide less experienced crew members.
