Job description

At Resource Options, we are seeking a skilled tradesperson responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various structures, including buildings and other infrastructure. Their work enhances aesthetic appeal and provides protection against environmental factors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Surface Preparation: Clean, scrape, sand, and patch surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of paint. This may involve removing old paint, filling holes, and treating surfaces to create a smooth base.
2. Mixing and Matching Paint: Select and mix paints to achieve the desired color and consistency, ensuring uniformity and quality in the final finish.
3. Application of Coatings: Apply primers, paints, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers. Ensure even coverage and desired texture on all surfaces.
4. Protection of Surrounding Areas: Cover floors, furniture, and fixtures with drop cloths or plastic sheeting to protect them from paint splatters and spills.
5. Maintenance of Tools and Equipment: Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers, to ensure their longevity and optimal performance.
6. Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications. Address any imperfections or issues promptly.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Experience: Proven experience as a painter, with a solid understanding of painting techniques and materials.
2. Technical Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix, and apply them appropriately.
3. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, climbing ladders, and lifting heavy equipment.
4. Attention to Detail: Conscientious with great attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes.
5. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of and adherence to health and safety procedures to prevent occupational hazards.

Pay Range:

$20/hr. - $30/hr.
