Job summary

Hexcel is currently seeking a Painter Technician I- Advanced Materials. Hours: 1:00pm - 11:30pm M–F. This role focuses on paint preparation and operation of painting equipment, with strict adherence to production records and quality standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, ability to read part drawings, and following internal specifications. DoD security clearance is required; previous aerospace/automotive painting is a plus. U.S. citizen only due to government contracts.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and understand part drawings.
  • Ability to follow internal and external specifications and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of spray equipment, mixing ratios and measuring devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with spray equipment and paint application.
  • Prior automotive or aerospace painting is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.
  • Follow safety policies including PPE and chemical handling.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties associated with paint preparation and secondary operations.
  • Maintains and operates painting equipment.
  • Consistently achieves productivity and quality expectations within assigned work cell.
  • In process quality control of products using measuring devices.
  • Maintain production records and cycle counts for traceability.
  • Maintain focus on foreign object debris control and prevention.
  • Participate in a safety-first culture.
