Painter Show Finisher, Walt Disney World

The Painter Show Finisher will produce and maintain themed show sets, props, figures, and characters in a shop and/or field environment. The Painter Show Finisher will use multiple mediums and materials including FRP, butyrate, latex, oil base products, adhesives, urethanes, silicone, poly-mixes, acrythanes, enamels, and black light. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $36.49 per hour.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop material finishes from documented and undocumented sources
  • Utilize an array of materials and techniques to problem solve issues as they arise
  • Use fur, feathering, and sewing techniques
  • Match skin colors of animated figures to documented standards
  • Handle cleaning chemicals and supplies as required
Basic Qualifications:
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Ability to work overnight hours
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in scenic painting or related field
  • Experience with silicone repairs, painting, sculpting with various mediums, scenic set painting, airbrushing, and hand painting techniques
  • Portfolio demonstrating relevant work in animated figures, skins, mold making, vehicles, textures, and character finishes
  • Knowledge of human anatomy both artistically and mechanically
  • Skills in fur, sewing, and pattern making
  • Basic understanding of black light paint techniques
  • Knowledge of fiberglass and butyrate repairs
  • Proficiency in sculpting techniques
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in office software and mobile devices
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Disney brands like Star Wars, Marvel, etc.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows environment
