Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Paint Helper to assist the lead painter with prep work, masking, painting, and cleanup for refinish projects on vehicles. You will mix paints, adjust spray patterns, and use polishing tools to achieve quality finishes while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires 1 year of related experience, familiarity with paint equipment, and the ability to read manuals. Lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a noisy environment are expected.

Qualifications

• I-CAR certification preferred.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Must comply with safety requirements and respirator procedures.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead painter with prep work and cleanup.
• Tape, sand, prep and mix/ match paint.
• Utilize polishing and buffing tools to smooth surfaces.
• Mask/unmask areas; finish painting and touch up.
• Operate paint equipment and adjust spray patterns.
• Read service and repair manuals and follow instructions.
• Comply with all safety standards and shop procedures.

Job Summary:Paint Helper assists a lead painter by performing prep work and cleanup needed to complete refinish repair work on cars, trucks, and other motor vehicles, with a focus on quality, timeliness and safety.Duties/Responsibilities:Assist in planning of refinish work needed according to specificationsTape, sand, and prepMixes and matches paint according to specificationsUtilizing polishing and buffing tools and materials, smooth the surfaces of the products to be paintedSanding, masking, unmasking, finish painting, seal and touch up. Must be familiar with paint equipment and must be able to adjust equipment to obtain the desired spray patternsComply with all TCC’s safety standards, guidelines and proceduresPerform other related duties as assigned relating to, but not limited to washing cars, cleaning the shop, etc..Requirements:Exceptional refinish skills.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsMust comply with all safety requirements, respirator safety and fit testProficient with paint equipment and paint mixing softwareAbility to read service and repair manuals.Ability to perform refinish work in a timely fashionAbility to read and interpret repair ordersMust be 18 years or olderEducation and Experience:I-CAR certified preferred1 year of related experience.Physical Requirements:Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly.Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.Good vision to inspect repair work.Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.Must be able to reach below and above shoulder level
