Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plans all refinish work needed according to specifications.
• Tape, sand, and prep as needed.
• Mixes and matches paint according to specifications.
• Finish painting, seal and touch up.
• Thoroughly inspect vehicles to ensure refinish work is complete.
• Comply with all safety standards, guidelines and procedures.
• Perform other related duties such as washing cars and cleaning the shop.

Job Summary:Painter performs all refinish repair work on cars, trucks, and other motor vehicles, with a focus on quality, timeliness and safety.Duties/Responsibilities:Plans all refinish work needed according to specificationsTape, sand, and prep as neededMixes and matches paint according to specificationsSanding, masking, unmasking, finish painting, seal and touch up. Must be familiar with paint equipment and must be able to adjust equipment to obtain the desired spray patternsKnowledge of OEM standards for application of top coat, curing and blending formulasAbility to identify and correct runs, streaks, blisters, overspray and any other defectsThoroughly inspect vehicles to ensure all necessary refinish work is completeComply with all TCC’s safety standards, guidelines and proceduresPerform other related duties as assigned relating to, but not limited to washing cars, cleaning the shop, etc..Requirements:Exceptional refinish skills.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsMust comply with all safety requirements, respirator safety and fit testProficient with paint equipment and paint mixing softwareAbility to read service and repair manuals.Ability to perform refinish work in a timely fashionAbility to read and interpret repair ordersMust be 18 years or olderEducation and Experience:I-CAR certified preferredThree years of related experience.Physical Requirements:Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly.Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.Good vision to inspect repair work.Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.Must be able to reach below and above shoulder level
