Job summary

WEG is seeking a Painter to join our team. In this role, you will perform various tasks in transformer production, including organizing components, operating paint equipment, and ensuring quality finishes. You will need to adhere to safety protocols and the WEG Code of Ethics.

The position offers competitive pay, benefits such as medical coverage, 401(k), and a bonus plan. Candidates with two years of manufacturing experience and a High School Diploma are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and identify transformer and subcomponents to be painted.
  • Set-up and operate plural component or other paint equipment.
  • Clean transformers and sub-assemblies prior to painting.
  • Perform spray painting to paint complete finish coat.
  • Complete quality check of final paint finish.
  • Move transformer and parts to and from paint booth.
  • Maintain all safety requirements.

Pay:

$24.14 to $25.65 plus $1.00/shift premium

Role: Painter

You will perform a range of tasks in the production of a transformer, including:

  • Organize and identify transformer and subcomponents to be painted.
  • Set-up and operate plural component or other paint equipment.
  • Clean transformers and sub-assemblies prior to painting through use of sander and cloth. Wipe off as needed with cleaner or alcohol.
  • Apply primer as required.
  • Perform spray painting to paint complete finish coat.
  • Complete quality check of final paint finish to meet manufacturing procedures and rework/repaint if required.
  • Move transformer and parts to and from paint booth using overhead hoist, pallet jack and fork-trucks.
  • Maintain all safety requirements.

Requirements
Basic:
  • Ability to work within the WEG Code of Ethics & Values. (WEG Code of Ethics, 4th Edition)
  • Able to work over-time as needed.
  • Resides or plans to reside within reasonable commuting distance--no relocation assistance available for this role.
  • Has current work authorization for employment in the United States.
  • Must complete: talent assessment, Job interview, pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Safety Sensitive position: Drug panel includes THC.
Preferred:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Two years prior manufacturing experience.
  • ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC): Platinum or Gold Level.
