Job summary

WEG is hiring a Painter to support transformer production. You will organize parts, set up paint equipment, apply primers and finish coats, and perform quality checks. You will move components using hoists and pallet jacks while maintaining strict safety standards and following WEG ethics and values.

Qualifications

  • Resides within reasonable commuting distance; no relocation assistance.
  • US work authorization required for employment.
  • Must pass talent assessment, interview, pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Safety sensitive position; drug panel includes THC.
  • Preference given to candidates with manufacturing experience and NCRC (Platinum/Gold).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify transformer parts to be painted and organize components.
  • Set up and operate paint equipment for multiple components.
  • Clean transformers and sub-assemblies prior to painting; use sander and cleaners as needed.
  • Apply primer and perform spray painting to final finish coat.
  • Conduct quality checks and rework/repaint if needed to meet procedures.
  • Move transformer parts to/from paint booth using hoists and pallet jacks.
  • Maintain all safety requirements during production.

Pay: $24.14 to $25.65 plus $1.00/shift premium

Role: Painter

You will perform a range of tasks in the production of a transformer, including:

  • Organize and identify transformer and subcomponents to be painted.
  • Set-up and operate plural component or other paint equipment.
  • Clean transformers and sub-assemblies prior to painting through use of sander and cloth. Wipe off as needed with cleaner or alcohol.
  • Apply primer as required.
  • Perform spray painting to paint complete finish coat.
  • Complete quality check of final paint finish to meet manufacturing procedures and rework/repaint if required.
  • Move transformer and parts to and from paint booth using overhead hoist, pallet jack and fork-trucks.
  • Maintain all safety requirements.

Requirements
Basic
  • Ability to work within the WEG Code of Ethics & Values. (WEG Code of Ethics, 4th Edition)
  • Able to work over-time as needed.
  • Resides or plans to reside within reasonable commuting distance--no relocation assistance available for this role.
  • Has current work authorization for employment in the United States.

Preferred

  • Two years prior manufacturing experience.
