Company Overview

CSR Marine is a full‑service boatyard serving the Puget Sound region since 1977. With two locations in Ballard and Des Moines (Washington State) we provide exceptional service in fiberglass, paint, rigging, mechanical, electrical and restoration.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Painter to start immediately at our Des Moines, WA location. Our ideal candidate is a self‑starter, highly motivated, and can work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare boats for bottom paint work, including sanding, masking, taping, bagging, and unbagging/tear down.
• Painting using rollers, HVLP, and airless spray systems.
• Prepare surfaces for coating according to paint manufacturers' specifications.
• Paint surfaces using approved methods.
• Ensure proper storage of all equipment.
• Dispose of empty paint and solvent cans according to safety standards.
• Properly store and take appropriate precautions for paint and solvents as directed by supervisor.
• Perform other duties as related.

Minimum Qualifications

• Good interpersonal communication skills.

• Must be able to wear a full body garment.
• Must be able to be fitted for and wear a respirator.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights, confined spaces, precarious places, proximity to other employees.
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50+ pounds.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

Desired Qualifications

Previous Industrial painting experience using rolled or airless systems preferred.

Compensation

$22.00 – $32.00 per hour, depending on experience.
