Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace facility in Minnesota is seeking an on-site painter to prime and finish detail parts and assemblies in our West Burnsville, MN operations.

You will maintain spray equipment, mix coatings, and ensure adherence to procedures and quality specs.Candidates should have a HS diploma and be eligible as a U.S. Person, with basic computer skills and blueprint reading. The role includes paid leave and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Prime and finish paint parts and assemblies to current specs.
• Maintain and calibrate paint equipment and controls.
• Follow SOPs and specifications.
• Mix paint to specified viscosity.
• Prepare parts by masking and cleaning as needed.
• Cure parts after topcoat application.
• Operate chart recorders.

What You Will Do:

• Responsible for priming and final painting of detail parts and final assemblies to current spec requirements
• Maintain paint equipment, mix paint, paint control.
• Follow standard operating procedures and specifications
• Mix paint to specified viscosity
• Clean, assemble and adjust spray guns and equipment
• Wash, wipe and sand parts when necessary
• Mask and prep parts for paint as required
• Cure parts after topcoat application
• Operate Chart recorders

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience spraying with paint guns
• Experience with applying coatings to metal in paint booths
• Experience with prepping (taping, applying plastic covers, filling in holes etc.)
• Basic computer skills; Excel, Word, Email
• Able to operate a curing oven and chart recorders.
• Ability to interpret blueprints

The salary range for this role is $38,841 - $72,849. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
