Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Burnsville, MN is seeking an onsite Paint Technician to prime and finish paint on detail parts and assemblies. You will maintain spray equipment, mix paints, and ensure adherence to specifications and SOPs. The role requires basic computer skills and prior experience with paint prep and curing processes.

The position offers a 2nd shift schedule (3:00pm - 1:30am) and a comprehensive benefits package. This is a U.S.-based role with on-site work at our West building facility.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma (or equivalent) with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person status required as defined by policy.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for priming and final painting of detail parts and final assemblies to current spec requirements.
  • Maintain paint equipment, mix paint, paint control.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and specifications.
  • Mix paint to specified viscosity.
  • Clean, assemble and adjust spray guns and equipment.
  • Wash, wipe and sand parts when necessary.
  • Mask and prep parts for paint as required.
  • Cure parts after topcoat application.
  • Operate Chart recorders

What You Will Do

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience spraying with paint guns
  • Experience with applying coatings to metal in paint booths
  • Experience with prepping (taping, applying plastic covers, filling in holes etc.)
  • Basic computer skills; Excel, Word, Email
  • Able to operate a curing oven and chart recorders.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints

The salary range for this role is $38,841 - $72,849. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
