Job summary

  • Ability to prioritize workload and multitask efficiently.
  • Knowledge of safety equipment usage.
  • Ability to use hand tools (gages, guns, pumps).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces and apply epoxy and urethane wet paints to achieve high-grade finishes.
  • Masking tape or caps to protect non-coated parts and components.
  • Adjust spray gun valves to regulate spray width and pressure.
  • Operate spray equipment and apply prime or finish coats.
  • Clean and maintain spray booths and equipment.
  • Suggest improvements to supervisors for assigned work.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions from lead and supervisors.
  • Ensure own work meets quality standards and safety requirements.

Job Overview

The Paint Operator prepares surfaces and applies epoxy and urethane wet paints to obtain high-grade finishes on parts or products.

A Day In The Life
  • Applying masking tape and/or caps to protect parts and components that are not to be coated.
  • Applying wet coat surfaces of manufactured products with epoxy and urethane coatings.
  • Adjust valves on spray guns to regulate the width and pressure of spray.
  • Pull trigger and direct spray onto the work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
  • Properly cleaning and maintaining all spray equipment including booth maintenance.
  • Making suggestions to supervisors for improvements associated with assigned work.
  • Following instructions, both written and verbal, from the lead person and production supervisors.
  • Operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Inspect your own work for conformity to standards.
