Job summary

Qualifications

  • Basic arithmetic required to handle measurements and tolerances.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and multitask to meet production deadlines.
  • Knowledge of proper usage of safety equipment and PPE is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with spray equipment such as gauges, guns, and pumps is required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods during shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Masking tape or caps to protect parts not to be coated.
  • Apply epoxy and urethane coatings to surfaces.
  • Adjust spray gun valves to regulate width and pressure.
  • Pull trigger and direct spray to apply primer or finish coat.
  • Clean and maintain all spray equipment and booth regularly.
  • Provide suggestions to supervisors for process improvements.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions from leads and supervisors.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently and inspect work for conformance to standards.

Job Overview

The Painter prepare surfaces, paints, sands, acid wash, and touches up all products.

A Day In The Life
  • Applying masking tape and or caps to protect parts and components that are not to be coated.
  • Applying wet coat surfaces of manufactured products with epoxy and urethane coatings.
  • Adjusting valves on spray gun to regulate width and pressure of spray.
  • Pulling trigger and directing spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
  • Properly cleaning and maintaining all spray equipment including booth maintenance.
  • Making suggestions to supervisors for improvements associated with assigned work.
  • Following instructions, both written and verbal, from the lead person and production supervisors.
  • Operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Inspecting own work for conformity to standards.
