Job summary

Joyce/Dayton Corp is seeking a Painter I for a shift-based hourly role in the United States. The successful candidate will safely apply coatings to diverse custom parts in a low-volume, high-mix shop and meet customer color and finish specs.

The role reports to the Assembly & Fulfillment Supervisor and requires the ability to operate spray equipment, read engineering drawings, and perform routine maintenance on paint systems. Prior painting experience in a job-shop is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prefer 1 year proven painting experience in a custom manufacturing environment.
• Able to read and execute customer paint specifications and finishes.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team player.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and paint custom-manufactured products per drawings, color specs, and finish requirements.
• Apply paint using spray equipment, brushes, and rollers on varied parts.
• Read and interpret customer paint specs and finish requirements from drawings and work orders.
• Set up, operate, and maintain paint equipment including spray guns and booths.
• Mix, thin, and match paints to achieve specified colors and finishes.
• Perform surface prep including masking, sanding, cleaning, and priming.
